Purchase of cereals and oilseeds
Kernel has the largest and most efficient network of purchasing cereals and oilseeds in the region. We maintain strategic partnership relations with five thousand agricultural producers. We know each of our partners, understand their needs, and offer unique, comprehensive solutions.
Agribusiness
Today, Kernel grows crops on 530 thousand hectares of rich black soil in Ukraine. Our strategic crops are corn, wheat, sunflower and soybeans. In their production, we implement a wide range of innovative solutions: GPS-controlled soil sampling system and agrochemical analysis of soil; meteorological monitoring; drones and quadcopter application; satellite monitoring of field conditions; agro-dispatching; cartography of yield capacity; and more. This system of precision farming has become the driver for the development of BigData and the basis for the creation of artificial intelligence – the world’s first integrated information system #DigitalAgriBusiness.
Silo services
The company’s elevator chain provides timely logistics support for the Kernel Agribusiness and purchased goods, and provides quality harvesting services to our partners, the agricultural producers. We invest in elevator infrastructure development: new powerful high-technology enterprises with fast turnover are located in places of agricultural land dislocation and farmers’ lands, where there is a shortage of storage capacities.
Grain export
Kernel is a reliable link between thousands of cereal producers in the Black Sea region and international markets. We export 6.1 million tons of corn, wheat, soybean, rape and barley. 80% of the products are exported to the countries of the Middle East, North Africa, the European Union; 20% to East Asia and South Africa.
Through its ownership of a chain of elevators and two deep Black Sea ports, the company is in full control of the cereal logistics. Kernel’s share in cereal exports from Ukraine is roughly 12%.
3.4 thousand own railcars fleet secure the smooth and efficient flow of grains from inland silos to the ports.
Crushing plants
Kernel Crushing plants are the most modern enterprises capable of processing several oilseeds. High-technology equipment along with European standards for quality management, occupational safety and environmental protection ensure the best practices in the world. Our total processing capacity is 3.5 million tons of sunflower seeds per year. We satisfy the domestic market needs in bottled oil and export bulk and packaged oil to 80 countries worldwide.
Oil export
The world's leading and the largest in Ukraine producer and exporter of sunflower oil, Kernel holds 8% of the world’s and about 30% of Ukraine’s market shares. The company supplies its products to 60 countries around the world, demonstrating a high level of export contract execution.
Bottled sunflower oil
Up to 10% of sunflower oil produced is further refined, bottled and sold domestically and abroad.
Export terminals
Kernel port terminals constitute the final link of the infrastructure, connecting the crops in the field with cargo ships, ensuring the efficiency and quality of export logistics. The capacity of transhipment of cereals in the port is 6,5 million tons per year. Efficient acceptance and shipment, modern elevator facilities and a deep-water berth allow us to load ships with a displacement tonnage of up to 80 thousand tons.
Kernel is the world’s leading and Ukraine’s largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil, and a major supplier of agricultural products from the Black Sea region to international markets. Kernel exports its products to more than 80 countries of the world. Since November 2007, the Company’s shares have been traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).

Shchedryi Dar – the national brand is one of the three leaders in the market for sunflower oil in Ukraine.
Produced by two unique technologies: cold refining (the oil is not subject to multiple heating and cooling, preserving its original structure) and first pressing (for the production of oil, only the whole seed core is used, from which only the first, most biologically valuable oil is selected for a low temperature pressing).
