Export Terminals

Kernel export terminals are an essential component in the Company’s bulk grain and oil pipelines and a key building bloc of the Group’s development and growth strategy. Today, Kernel owns and operates port terminals handling and exporting all of the commodities handled or produced by the Company: bulk grain, sunflower oil and sunflower meal can all be exported from Ukraine and delivered to the international market through port terminals owned and operated by Kernel, ensuring flexibility in marketing of products and efficiency of supply to our customers.

“Transbulkterminal”, our grain terminal complex in the Black Sea port of Illichevsk, provides grain handling and transshipment services both to Kernel and to other major grain exporters. Services will typically include the discharging of railcars and trucks and temporary storage of grain in the terminal grain bins located directly alongside berth, followed by the loading of the grain into the client’s vessel. Through Transbulkterminal, Kernel and other clients of the Terminal will typically export wheat, in particular milling wheat, barley, corn, rapeseed and soybean. While the grain terminal offers 200 000 tons of grain storage capacity, the primary function of the terminal is not storage, but fast and efficient transshipment of grain onto Handy-size and Panamax vessels. As Ukraine produces and exports increasingly larger volumes of grain, Transbulkterminal is expected to handle in excess of 4 million tons of grain per season.

“Oiltransterminal”, our oil handling and transshipment terminal in Nikolayev, was recently acquired by the Company. While the terminal offers half a million tons of oil transshipment capacity, our large oil production capacity now requires Oiltransterminal to be exclusively dedicated to the transshipment of bulk oil Kernel delivers to the international market.
